The Lagos State Examinations Board has
concluded all arrangements to release the 2018 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) Result.

This was disclosed by the Director,
Examinations Board, Mr. Oluwafemi Hassan while speaking at the 2018 Award Meeting which had in attendance the major
stakeholders comprising of Chief Examiners, Directors of Schools’ Administration, Teachers, Representatives from the State
Ministry of Education and President of All Nigerian Conference of Principals of
Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS).

Dr. Hassan explained that the essence of the meeting was to evolve a guideline for the gradings of ten school subjects in which nine are compulsory while Arabic is optional.

He maintained that the yardstick for promoting the students to Senior Secondary Schools must be a true reflection of their performance.

English and Mathematics, adding that any student who failed the compulsory subjects (especially English and Maths) has to re-sit the examinations before being promoted.
